Barati comes from The Bharatas which were an Early Vedic tribe.

The Battle of the Ten Kings was a battle, first alluded to in the 7th Mandala of the Rigveda (RV), between a Bharata king and a confederation of tribes. It resulted in a decisive victory for the Bharatas and subsequent formation of the Kuru polity.

Years later these was also a king named Bharata. Bharata was a legendary emperor and the founder of Bharata Dynasty.

Bharata dynasty name also came from The Bharatas tribe which was an Early Vedic tribe.

It means those who are devotee (followers) of the light (or sun).
