Roots of the word “Mitanni” in Mitanni Kingdom
“The Armenian words mi (մի) and tan (տան) put together, then it would mean something close to “one house”. Mi is used to indicate that something is singular and it is often used as an indefinite article. Tan is the genitive form of tun (home). So, it would mean “A home’s…””.
It has same roots as the word “Mitanni” for Mitanni Kingdom.
Let me tell you something interesting, I think we have this word in Persian too.
In old Persian Poets, we have the word “Mihan” it means “Country”, I think, that Mihan comes from the same root. Because in that way it had the meaning. Mihan means one house of all of us (the countrymen), It has the meaning.
